Annual Performance Measures 

 The Board of Medical Imaging was established in 1977 to ensure the quality of diagnostic radiography, radiation therapy, diagnostic medical sonography, nuclear medicine technology and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).  Some of these medical imaging services include fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT scans), mammography, bone densitometry; cardiac, vascular, echocardiography, obstetrics & gynecology, phlebology ultrasound; cardi​ographic, cardiac electrophysiology, and cardiovascular angiography; positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear cardiology; single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) brachytherapy; and MRI scans.  The Board of Medical Imaging assures the quality of medical imaging services through its high ethically and competency licensing standards for it radiologic technologists, radiation therapists, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists and MRI technologists.  The Board administers limited scope examinations to determine initial competence to practice for limited x-ray machine operators (LXMO) and approves continuing education offerings to assure continuing competence for technologists, therapists, sonographers and limited x-ray machine operators. ​
