Ratites entering Oregon must be accompanied by a Certificate
of Veterinary Inspection issued no more than 30 days prior to entry. Upon
arrival, the bird(s) must be isolated from other birds and observed for disease
for 14 days.
Each bird must have permanent identification (leg band or
microchip), which must be listed on the CVI.
A negative test for Salmonella Pullorum-Typhoid must be
completed no more than 30 days prior to entry
Ratites shipped directly from a flock which is a National
Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) participant are exempt from the Salmonella
Pullorum-Typhoid test, but must meet all other requirements.
An import permit is required. Please call our office to
obtain an import permit prior to shipment.
