Due to a statewide email issue, staff cannot currently send messages to any members of the public who use the following email providers: @outlook.com, @msn.com, @hotmail.com, or @live.com.

If you use one of these services, our emails may not currently be reaching you.  If you are looking for an email that you cannot find, please contact MCTD via Trucking Online so that we can fax you the credentials you need.

The state is working to resolve this issue, and we will provide updates when available.  Thank you for your patience during this time.

Oregon motor carriers that also operate in Canada need to make sure that they comply with Canadian filing and reporting requirements under Canada’s Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act.

Under Canadian law, persons who use fuel in a vehicle, subject to certain conditions, to provide commercial transportation of individuals or goods by road between provinces or between Canada and another country are required to be registered as road carriers starting April 1, 2019. Such persons should carefully review information about the act.

The full notice can be found at:

For more information on this Canadian registration process:

If you have any further questions, please contact the Canada Revenue Agency.

An annual permit may be available to allow exceeding legal dimensions or weights for one year for approved routes, dimensions, and weights. Rather than getting a single trip permit many times throughout the year, you can save time and money with one annual permit for those recurring over-dimension trips.

These permits can be obtained through Oregon Trucking Online or from ODOT third party agents Oregon Trucking Associations, A Work Safe Service, and Clackamas, Lane, and Marion counties, as well as at MCTD’s Salem Motor Carrier Headquarters and the Portland Bridge/Jantzen Beach Office.

Direct Payment is the free and easy way to pay for online transactions, replacing pricey credit card transaction fees. Currently the transaction banking fee is 2.4% of each payment when a customer uses a credit card for transactions by phone, over the counter, or online.

Direct Payment allows for electronic payments directly from a checking or savings account. It’s simply the electronic way to write a check. There is no charge to use this service, and there is no need to give your employees access to bank account numbers or credit card information to conduct transactions. When a customer completes a transaction and authorizes payment, the customer’s bank transfers the approved amount directly from the customer’s account.

Dramatic savings are within your reach, because it’s an extremely low cost alternative to credit cards.
