About Us
Division Administrator, Gregg Dal Ponte
The Motor Carrier Transportation Division is continually developing innovative strategies to simplify regulatory processes and improve the way we do business in this state. Throughout the Division we're adopting ideas that bring efficiencies to government and the trucking industry. For example, our Green Light Program saves time and money while increasing weigh station capacity by weighing trucks on the highway and sending a green light signal to those with transponders if they don't need to stop at a weigh station. Also, our Trucking Online Internet service brings permit processing, road-use tax reporting and payment, and other truck transactions as close as the nearest computer, making it easier for companies to keep on truckin' in Oregon.   Most recently, we have partnered with EROAD to allow motor carriers to use its solution to automatically capture and record all required data elements to meet Oregon weight mile tax reporting requirements including distance, location, state crossings and trip segments. An independent verification and subsequent audit report by the Oregon Secretary of State found the EROAD data, reports, and records to be highly accurate and reliable. All records are archived to support you in meeting your audit and legal obligations.  ODOT is actively seeking additional private sector partners to provide similar offerings.
We hope you find our Web site helpful, or take a moment to E-mail comments regarding how to make it better. Welcome, and thank you for visiting us on the Internet!
