Annual Performance Measures
The Transportation Planning Section is comprised of four work groups:
- Transportation Planning Unit
- Freight Planning Unit
- Programs and Economic Analysis Unit
- Transportation Planning Analysis Unit
These four groups work together to promote a complete integrated resource management approach to transportation system planning. Through direction from the OTC, the ODOT Director, and business line teams throughout the organization we help provide the policy framework, guidance, technical analysis, and training to the transportation Regions ensuring that ODOT is developing and managing a holistic multi-modal system. The Section is also responsible for coordinating with key modal groups like Highway, Rail and Transit Divisions to help inform, train, and provide guidance for complete systems planning. We are responsible for coordinating planning activities with the Active Transportation Section regarding Bike/Ped planning and implementing programs, including funding programs, to enhance statewide strategic investment principles.
Finally the Section is responsible for leading the ever evolving long range transportation policy framework in coordination with our many internal and external stakeholders and legislative mandates. To accomplish this we often work with and collaborate with diverse committees and organizations throughout the state.
