Proposed HCI Rule Change

Notice of Proposed Rulemaking – OAR chapter 333, division 002: “Amending the expiration date for Health Care Interpreter (HCI) letters and the period for submitting renewal documentation

The Oregon Health Authority (Authority), Office of Equity and Inclusion is proposing to amend Oregon Administrative Rules 333-002-0120; 333-002-0140; 333-002-0150 and 333-002-0170 pertaining to the expiration date for Health Care Interpreter (HCI) letters and the period for applicants to submit renewal documents to the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) for processing.

The Authority proposes to extend the expiration date for HCI letters from 3 to 4 years in OAR 333-002-0120, 333-002-0140, 333-002-0150 and 333-002-0170.

In addition, the Authority proposes to extend the period for submitting renewal documents to OEI from 45 to 60 days before the expiration date on previously issued letters, in OAR 333-002-0170.

You are invited to review and comment on the proposed changes. Only written comments will be accepted. Please file written comments before 5:00 p.m. on December 21, 2018 by submitting them to the Office of Equity and Inclusion HCI Program Coordinator at the following address:
