Question: Does my license as a direct entry midwife allow me to provide gynecological care (“well woman care”) to a woman who is not pregnant and is not within the eight weeks postpartum period following the birth of her baby?
The Board of Direct Entry Midwifery (Board) is currently seeking interested parties to serve as experts on a Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) for the direct entry midwifery profession in Oregon. All administrative rules will be reviewed for accuracy and applicability to the community birth profession. Topics under review include but are not limited to definitions, licensing requirements, attestation of certain certifications, training and reporting, continuing education standards, legend drugs and devices and practice standards.
