Environmental Health Registration Board - Environmental Health Specialists - Continuing Education

Twenty (20) continuing education hours every two years

To maintain registration, an environmental health specialist must complete a minimum of twenty (20) continuing education (CE) hours every two years. For the current CE requirements, please see Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR)  338-020-0030.

Documentation, attestation and audit

Documentation supporting compliance with CE requirements must be maintained by the registrant for a period of two (2) years following registration renewal and be provided to the Health Licensing Office upon request.

Each registrant shall document compliance with the CE credit requirements through attestation on the registration renewal application.

Pre-approval of courses

To obtain pre-approval of CE courses provided by organizations not already approved in rule, please go to the HLO Forms page and search for the HLO CEU Pre-Approval Request Form.
