1042nd Med Co deployment ceremony on Monday, June 24 in Salem
Salem, Ore. - On June 24, 2002, the Oregon Army National Guard will host a deployment ceremony for the 1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance). The ceremony will be at 11 a.m. at the Army Aviation Support Facility, 1921 Turner Road SE, Salem, in Hangar One. The public and members of the media are invited to attend.

The Oregon Army National Guard is mobilizing 84 soldiers from the 1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These soldiers will travel to Fort Bragg, NC, and join the 20 soldiers deployed to Fort Bragg in May. They will be tasked to perform their primary mission of medical evacuation and initial treatment. The duration of this newest deployment is not known at this time.
The 1042 mobilized 59 personnel in support of Operation Joint Forge in Bosnia in 2000. They have also deployed to Turkey for an international exercise, "Dynamic Mix." The 1042 is the latest of many mobilizations of the Oregon National Guard.
Those attending should plan to show their driver's license at the gate for admittance to the flight facility.
