Oregon Army National Guard dispatches Blackhawk to aid in search for missing 4 wheelers
Salem, Ore. - One UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter departed the Army Aviation Support Facility at approximately 11:10 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2005 enroute to the Waldport area.
A request came in from Oregon Emergency Management at the request of the Benton County Sheriffs office for assistance in the search for two missing persons. They had been on a 4 wheeling trip in the woods near Waldport and were scheduled to return Wednesday evening. The individuals are reported to be 19 and 20 years of age.
Piloting the aircraft are Lt. Col. Dan Hokanson of Keizer, Ore., Maj. Mark Ulvin, co-pilot; flight medic is Sgt. Hogard with crew chief of Staff Sgt. Larry Erickson.
