Blackhawk helicopter requested to aid in search for missing man
One UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Pendleton, Ore. is preparing to depart enroute to Ukiah, Ore., in Umatilla County to assist in the search for a missing man. The individual is approximately 40 years old and is reported to be a diabetic. The aircraft is expected to depart Pendleton at approximately 9 a.m.
The flight crew consists of pilots - Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) Dennis Rogers, CW3 Doug Walker, and crewchief Sgt. 1st Class Scott McCoy.
Two observers will also be onboard for this mission.
The UH-60 Blackhawk typically is based in Salem, Ore. was positioned at Pendleton to assist in this type of operation as the CH-47 Chinook helicopters and crews are currently serving in Afghanistan as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
