Oregon National Guard to break ground on Salem Flight Facility expansion
Salem, Ore. – A groundbreaking ceremony for the Oregon National Guard's Army Aviation Facility in Salem will be held Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. near Hangar #2.
Senior members of the Oregon National Guard including the Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, and several state and civic leaders including Governor Kulongoski, Congresswoman Darleen Hooley, and Salem Mayor Janet Taylor will attend the ceremony.
The media is encouraged to attend. There will be opportunity for interviews with Congresswoman Hooley, Governor Kulongoski and key officials from the Oregon National Guard. Personnel from the Oregon Army National Guard's aviation units and the 102nd Civil Support Team will be on hand to answer any questions. Static equipment displays by both units will be presented.
The Army Aviation Facility is located at 1921 Turner Rd. SE, on the East end of McNary Field just off Airport Rd.
