Youth program to benefit from hockey team fundraiser
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Fort Vancouver Pioneer hockey team will hold a fundraiser for Camp Rosenbaum on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 during their weekly Internet broadcast.
The show is aired live from the "Doner Haus", located at 16020 SE Mill Plain Blvd., near 164th Avenue in Vancouver, Washington. Listeners can also tune in to the live broadcast at www.sportsjuice.com  at 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 30.
Organized by volunteer members from the Oregon National Guard, public safety organizations throughout Oregon, and several housing authorities throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington State, the camp hosts approximately 160 "at-risk" youth, ages 9-11 for one week each summer on Oregon's picturesque northern coast.
Camp Rosenbaum is a non-profit organization that is chartered with helping Oregon's youth since 1970. The annual event held on the Oregon coast has been nationally recognized, and is a model for other states' youth programs. Children attending the camp are taught the values of staying in school, avoiding drugs, team-building and good citizenship, while at the same time they are instilled with hope of a better future for themselves and their families.
