Oregon Army National Guard to support search for missing man
The Oregon Army National Guard will launch a UH-60 Blackhawk at 9:30 this morning to assist in a search near Banks, Ore. for a missing man. The man has been missing since 7 a.m. Thursday.
The Washington County Sherriff's office is the lead agency, and requested search assistance through the Office Emergency Management.
The Blackhawk will launch from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem with a crew of four who will support the search for the missing man from the air. The crew is part of the 1042nd Medical Company (Air Ambulance). This unit recently saw 35 of its soldiers return from a six month deployment to Afghanistan.
The Oregon Army National Guard supports dozens of search and rescue missions each year, proving to be a valuable resource to the state and Pacific Northwest.
