Oregon National Guard continues to support local communities
This is an overview of the type of support the Oregon National Guard has provided or continues to provide to areas suffering from the effects of recent winter storms:

- Rescue operations on the water by zodiac boats (Vernonia) and from the air by UH-60L Blackhawk helicopters (southwest Washington)
- Transporting Red Cross supplies to the Columbia County EOC
- Overnight shelter to about 50 people at Camp Rilea and meals to approximately 160 people throughout the day
- Transportation support with high-profile vehicles
- Transportation and maintenance of two 60KW generators to Vernonia
- Transportation for veterinarians in Columbia County/Vernonia

The ORNG was an instrumental part of the comprehensive response by the Oregon Military Department.

The Office of Emergency Management agency in the OMD diligently working to support first responders and local governments. The OEM has worked closely with county emergency operations centers to identify what support the affected areas need, then it has coordinated the effort at the state level.

The OEM will continue to coordinate support requirements with the counties over the coming days to ensure primary needs such as medical care, shelter, and food and water are provided.
