National Guard celebrates 371st Birthday in a ceremony combined with Governor Kulongoski
In a ceremony to be held at the Anderson Readiness Center in Salem tomorrow, the Oregon National Guard will celebrate the 371st birthday of the National Guard. Governor Ted Kulongoski will recognize agencies who proved to be invaluable to the state of Oregon during the recent storm and ensuing flooding. In addition to these activities, Pacific Power will be recognized for their contribution to alleviate the power cost for the families of soldiers serving in the Global War on Terror. They have donated monies to offset the cost of electrical power by providing $10,000 to the Emergency Relief Fund for these families. They have also stepped forward to fund the transport of donated comfort items to Oregon National Guard men and women serving in Iraq.

The ceremony will be held at the Anderson Readiness Center located at 3225 State Street NE, Salem, Ore. at 12:00 p.m. Media is invited to attend this joint celebration of the effective of the National Guard Birthday, recognition of the statewide efforts in storm relief and the invaluable support of Oregon businesses and community members.
