Oregon Air National Guard members to demobilize following deployment to Iraq
The Oregon Air National Guard's 116 Air Control Squadron will host a demobilization ceremony at the Rilea Training Facility in Warrenton, Ore., at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009.
Twenty-seven members of the unit were deployed to Iraq from September 2008 to February 2009, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. A group of five individuals was stationed at Balad airbase, while the remainder was stationed in Qayyarah, Iraq, northwest of Baghdad, where they provided remote radar and communications support to the base.
Governor Ted Kulongoski, Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, The Adjutant General, Oregon National Guard, Guard Oregon Representative Deborah Boone (D-Cannon Beach, Ore.), Warrenton Mayor, Gilbert Gramson, Brig. Gen. Bruce Prunk, Oregon Air National, Adjutant General (Air), and other members of Oregon National Guard's senior leadership, will attend the event.
Members of the media and surrounding community are also invited. The event will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
