Oregon hosts Eagle Region's "Going Green" Workshop, Aug. 2-4
PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon National Guard is hosting the Army National Guard's "Going Green" Workshop Aug. 2-4 in Portland, Ore.

The event is being held at the Red Lion Hotel, at Jantzen Beach in Portland, Ore. The conference brings together participants from across the country, including regional partners from Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

Highlights of the conference include regional speakers on environmental construction techniques, key officials in domestic operations, and presentations by recently deployed logisticians.

On the first day of the conference, Brig. Gen. Steven D. Gregg, The Assistant Adjutant General of the Oregon Air National Guard, hosted the welcome presentation, and Mr. Jim Arnold, the Oregon Military Department's Environmental Restoration Manager, and 2009 recipient of the Secretary of the Army Environmental Award, made a special presentation to attendees.

The workshop maintains the Eagle Charter directives while building upon lessons learned from the National Logistical Management Seminar theme of "Logistics: Keeping the Guard Green".
