142nd Fighter Wing Aircraft and Personnel Return from Overseas Training Tour
PORTLAND, Ore. – Six F-15C aircraft and 131 members of the Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Wing are scheduled to begin returning home Nov. 6 following a 30-day overseas training tour in support of Exercise IRON FALCON at the United Arab Emirates Air Warfare Center.

The largest of several groups of personnel and equipment is scheduled to touch down at approximately 10 p.m., Nov. 9, at the Portland Air National Guard Base. The six F-15 aircraft are currently scheduled to return at approximately noon on Nov. 9. (Times are subject to change).

Throughout the exercise, Oregon Guard members had the opportunity to train alongside an international contingent during IRON FALCON. The exercise was designed to bring together Gulf Cooperation Council nations, and other countries to strengthen military-to-military relationships, promote regional security, improve combined tactical air operations, and enhance the working partnership of forces, equipment and procedures.

The U.S. Air Force has actively participated in this multi-national United Arab Emirates Air Warfare Center course in Southwest Asia since November 2004.
