Oregon Army National Guard to mobilize Soldiers of the 1186 Military Police Company
Salem, Ore. - Approximately 170 Oregon Army National Guard soldiers of the 1186th Military Police Co., have been mobilized for duty to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The soldiers will conduct pre-deployment training at Fort Bliss, Texas, in Oct., 2011. The unit will conduct convoy and base security missions during its year-long deployment.

"We've been to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and helped in response to Hurricane Katrina, so we are looking forward to going overseas to assist in another mission on support of Operation Enduring Freedom," said Maj. William Gillentine, Company Commander of the 1186 Military Police.
