Funeral Services for Spc. Andrew Lara, Oregon National Guard Soldier who died in Iraq
Funeral services for Spc. Andrew Lara are scheduled for Saturday, May, 14 at
11:00 AM at 1st Assembly of God Church, 2817 Santiam Hwy. SE, Albany, Oregon. Internment services to immediately follow at Willamette Memorial Cemetery, 2640 Old Salem Road NE, Albany, Ore.

Lara, 25 years old, died of a non combat related incident on April 27, in Babil Province, Iraq. He was assigned to F Company, 145 Brigade Support Battalion, 116 Cavalry Regiment.

Lara's military awards include the Combat Action Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Merit, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Special Skill Badge and Expert Marksman Badge for Rifle.

Media is invited to attend the funeral and graveside services for Lara, however out of respect to the family, media is asked to stay in the reserved space for videographers and still photographers at both services.

Lara is survived by his parents, Ramiro and Lynn Lara, brother, Joshua Lara, 23, and daughter Kay Lynn, 18 months old.
