Ways to Engage with the Board

The Oregon Board of Nursing encourages licensees, certificate-holders, stakeholders, and the public to engage and advise on a variety of issues through participation in a standing or rotating committees.

Standing Committees

  1. Advisory Committee for Education Standards (ACES): reviews issues related to nursing education and summarizes findings, including: NCLEX pass rate trends, nursing faculty, and clinical placements.  The group also periodically reviews Oregon Administrative Rule 851-021 (Nurse Practice Act Division 21--Standards for the Approval of Educational Programs in Nursing Preparing Candidates for Licensure as Practical or Registered Nurses) for potential changes.
  2. CNA/CMA Advisory Group: provides a venue for the review of issues related to nursing assistant and medication aide authorized duties and education. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, review and analysis of: pass rate trends, and administrative rules regarding certification and education of nursing assistants and medication aides.

Other Committees

The Board periodically forms other committees as the need arises.  When those committees are formed, you can find public meeting notices, agendas, and meeting minutes on the main meeting calendar.
