Kathryn Griffin

Kathryn Griffin received her Bachelor’s Degree from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts in 2007, and her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School in Albany, New York in 2010. She earned licensure in New York, Massachusetts, and Oregon in 2011.  In 2011 she went into private practice in Roseburg and quickly fell in love with the restorative aspect of the Juvenile Dependency system.

In 2016, after transitioning to her current position at Umpqua Valley Public Defenders, she began applying that passion to the Treatment Court system.  She currently represents clients in Douglas County’s Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Domestic Violence Court, and is constantly working with teams to make programs more effective for her clients.  In May of 2018, she took her Oath of Office for the Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission to continue working towards a more functional and fulfilling treatment system in Oregon.
