Diversity & Inclusion

We Value Diversity

The Oregon Department of Aviation recognizes the many benefits of a workplace environment that values and embraces individual differences. In fact, diversity and inclusion are one of our core values.

Our inclusive culture is defined by our values, and we continuously seek employees from all backgrounds with distinctive ideas, perspectives, insights and talents. Because diversity is so critical, ODA actively supports and engages in a variety of associations, programs, coalitions and initiatives to support and accommodate employees from diverse communities and backgrounds. Our people are our strength, and we take great care in investing in and valuing them as such.

Affirmative Action

ODA's Affirmative Action program, is a specific and result-oriented program by which the department is committed to achieving a work force that represents the diversity of Oregon’s population and to provide fair and equal employment opportunities regardless of a person’s race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, age or disability. ODA provides a workplace environment that is free from harassment and intimidation. Employment practices are consistent with state and federal laws, which preclude discrimination..

The objective of the affirmative action program is that it seeks to redress past discrimination through active measures. Programs without effort to make them work are meaningless; and effort, undirected by specific and meaningful programs, is inadequate.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Making sure that workplaces are free from all forms of harassment and providing programs to assist members of equal employment opportunity groups to overcome past or present disadvantage or discrimination.

This means having workplace rules, policies, practices and behaviors that are fair and do not discriminate against people belonging to or associated with a particular group.
