Chiloquin State Airport [2S7]

The City of Chiloquin is located north of Klamath Falls in Klamath County. The City of Chiloquin is located east of Agency Lake in the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge.

Chiloquin State Airport is situated on 115 acres, east of U.S. Route 97 approximately one mile northwest of the City.

The Airport accommodates only small general aviation aircraft; however, it is frequently used to support aerial firefighting activity in the region. The Airport is currently owned and operated by the ODA. Crater Lake National Park is located northwest of Chiloquin State Airport. Tourism and agriculture are the primary industries in the area.

The Airport has one runway oriented in a north-south direction. This runway, Runway 17/35, measures 3,749 feet long and is 60 feet wide. Runway 17/35 is lighted with MIRL. All approaches are visual. The Airport accommodates 3,500 general aviation operations annually, 77 percent of which are itinerant. The Airport is home to six based aircraft.

9/2/2026 Update - The runway and west apron at the Chiloquin State Airport will be closed for airfield painting on Monday September 14th. 

These markings are the final coat as part of the recent surface seal project, which included crack seal, pavement patching, surface seal, and new pavement markings on the runway and turn-arounds, as well as the west apron and taxiway connector.

The runway and west apron are expected to be closed 7am until 7pm on Monday September 14th.  

This work is being completed in one phase to get all of the work done as quickly as possible.

(!) Please check NOTAMs for the most current airport surface closure information.

(!!) When the runway is closed, fixed wing aircraft will not be able to arrive or depart at Chiloquin until the runway reopens.

(!!!) Helicopters may arrive or depart directly to/from the east hangar taxilanes.

(!!!!) As always, please remain outside of, and avoid low flight over closed work areas.

7/21/2026 Update - Due to a recent fire in Klamath Falls, the Chiloquin State Airport Runway and West Apron Surface Seal Project will now begin July 22nd, 2026. 

This project will include crack seal, pavement patching, surface seal, and new pavement markings on the runway and turn-arounds, as well as the west apron and taxiway connector.

The runway and west apron are expected to be closed for 9 days. 
This project is being completed in one phase to get all of the work done as quickly as possible. 

Project Schedule:
  • Project start - Wednesday July 22nd
    • The runway and west apron closed
      • 7am Wednesday July 22nd - 7pm Friday July 24th
      • 7am Monday July 27th - 7pm Saturday August 1st
  • Substantial completion - 7pm Saturday August 1st

The Oregon Department of Aviation is planning to start the Chiloquin Runway and West Apron Surface Seal Project this summer, 2026. 

This project will include crack seal, pavement patching, surface seal, and new pavement markings on the runway and turn-arounds, as well as the west apron and taxiway connector. 

Chiloquin Surface Seal

The runway and west apron are expected to be closed for up to 13 days. Once the grants are issued and the contract is signed, we will share project start dates as soon as that information is available.

​The Oregon Department of Aviation is planning a Surface Seal Project at the Chiloquin State Airport (2S7) that will occur in 2026.

In order to complete design for that project, surveyors will need unimpeded access to the runway for approximately 2 days. 

The runway at 2S7 will be closed for the following dates and times:
  • 7am-6pm* Monday September 22nd 
  • 7am-6pm* Tuesday September 23rd 
Survey work may continue around the taxilanes and apron after the runway reopens, but without surface closures.

*Reopening times are subject to change, we will reopen the runway and taxiways as soon as this work is completed.
