UAS Test Ranges

Oregon has a unique area where drone technology is tested and improved, called the Pan-Pacific UAS Test Range Complex (PPTRC).

This site, with locations in Pendleton, McMinnville, and Tillamook, helps Oregon's drone businesses grow. The government has designated it as a safe space for businesses, researchers, and government agencies to experiment with and refine their drone operations. This helps Oregon by:

  • Creating jobs.
  • Making our economy stronger.
  • Helping us become leaders in new flying technology.

The test range also helps important Oregon jobs, like:

  • Farming.
  • Fighting wildfires.
  • Checking bridges and roads.
  • Helping during emergencies.

If you're a business wanting to use drones, a researcher trying new things, or just interested in the future of flying in Oregon, this test range is helping make new and exciting things happen in the sky, right here in our state.
