2019 Oregon Structural Specialty Code Adoption

Code review and adoption

For the adoption of the 2019 Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC), the Building Codes Structures Board has appointed a committee to review the scientific and technical provisions of each proposed change, model code change, and existing Oregon amendment. The board will review the committee's findings and make a final recommendation to the division for adoption.

Anticipated effective date

  • The anticipated effective date for the 2019 OSSC is Oct. 1, 2019.
  • Codebooks are projected to be available in mid- to late-September
  • There will be a three month phase-in period when all building departments will accept plans designed to the 2014 OSSC or the 2019 OSSC.
