Greetings Oregon Contractors,
Over the last week we have all
seen the unprecedented national, state and local response to the COVID-19
outbreak.
The Construction Contractors
Board remains focused on the work we do for Oregonians and Oregon contractors.
While external circumstances continue to rapidly evolve the CCB’s priorities
remain:
- Keep Oregon contractors working
with timely processing of license requirements
- Continue enforcement efforts
with focus on unlicensed work and repeat violations
- Protect Oregon Consumers by
maintaining dispute resolution and other services
As we take steps to support
guidance from the Governor and public health officials we want to make the
contractor community aware of the services that are available and the steps we
are taking to keep Oregon contractors working. As always, if you have any
questions call the CCB and allow us to assist you: 503-378-4621 or ccb.info@state.or.us
Emergency Rule Allowing
Temporary Deferral of License Renewal
On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the
Construction Contractors Board approved a rule allowing contractors to
temporarily defer renewal of their license through June 30, 2020. This measure
is intended to provide relief to contractors that have encountered difficulty
accessing classes needed for renewal, contractors whose personal or family
health has made renewal difficult as well as contractors that have encountered
other problems completing aspects of the renewal process. More information is
available on our website.
- Contractors are still
encouraged to renew on time if their personal circumstances allow.
- The temporary deferral does
not affect the requirement to maintain active insurance and bond in
order to perform work.
Online Services
The CCB provides a variety of
services online that can be accessed with an online services account. An online
services account allows you to do all of the following online:
- Renew your license up to 8
weeks before your expiration date
- Review and/or complete your
continuing education
- Manage your CCB license
information
- Sign up for eWatch -- track
your license status of that of your subcontractors
If you have never had an online
account and have questions about how to set one up, please call the CCB at:
503-378-4621 or email us at ccb.info@state.or.us
Link to set up account is here: https://portal.ccb.state.or.us/
Limited In-Person Services –
Please call in advance
As a temporary measure to limit the spread of
COVID-19 the CCB is providing in-person services at the CCB offices in Salem
with a prior appointment only. Most CCB services can be completed online, via
mail or fax or other means, eliminating the need for an in-person visit. Please
contact our helpful staff and we will do our best to assist you or set up an
appointment for in-person services as needed. Please contact the CCB for more
information: 503-378-4621 or ccb.info@state.or.us
Online Classes Remain
Available
While the restrictions
established by the Governor have required cancellation of some of our upcoming
live classes, CCB maintains a catalog of classes online, including the 3-hour
CCB required course. To
contractors with limited access to Internet: CCB has solutions
for contractors who are unable to take classes online; we will work with you.
Please contact the Education section for assistance at 503-934-2227.
As the situation continues to
evolve, we will continue to communicate with the contractor community.
Thank you,
Chris Huntington
Administrator, CCB
