Interested in forming or participating in an educator network?
Attend an upcoming design institute near you!
The Educator Advancement Council (EAC) is hosting a series of “design institutes” around the state starting in February to support organizations and educators interested in creating or participating in EAC educator networks this year.
The purpose of the EAC is to ensure all Oregon public school teachers, administrators and early learning professionals have access to high-quality professional learning and support – from the time they are considering the profession to their first teaching job to becoming a school or district leader. This work will be achieved through educator networks, which will rely heavily on teacher voice and shared leadership to drive decision-making and share resources, expertise and equity driven practices across schools and districts. The EAC will release a Request for Proposals this spring for organizations interesting in sponsoring educator networks.
The design institutes will provide those interested in serving as EAC Regional Sponsoring Organizations or being part of an educator network with tools and practices useful in developing successful networks focused on system change and continuous improvement and driven by teacher voice. These highly interactive one-day design institutes are scheduled in 7 locations, allowing participants to actively experience tools and strategies for supporting educators in a network. Teams of 3 to 5 from ESDs and school/district leaders and teachers are encouraged to attend, and will leave with a solid plan for how to successfully sponsor a network that engages educators in their local contexts to design, test, and study improvements.
