June 23, 2017 - The workgroup submitted a roadmap for future improvement recommendations to Gov. Brown.

The multi-year approach is incremental, yet comprehensive, consisting of key strategies and recommended actions intended to improve state agency organization of records and the response to requests for them.

Feb. 15, 2017 - Following months of work by state agency representatives, DAS adopted a standard fee structure that agencies will use when considering requests for records. The fees represent not-to-exceed amounts and don't prevent an agency from waiving fees altogether.

DAS will accept agency feedback on the fee structure for 90 days, then begin a formal process to establish the fee structure in administrative rule.
