I'm with the Division of Financial Regulation, which is part of the Department of Consumer Business Services. 

We're a regulatory agency so we have enforcement folks, we also have policy team members, we have our consumer advocates, which help the public with complaints and questions regarding insurance and financial services. We have our outreach team, which is what I do.

I go around the state and talk about our division, talk to folks about what we do, and how we can help them. Our outreach team goes out into the committee and talks to Oregonians about our division, guide them with what we can help them with, such as complaints, problems that they have with their either insurance policy or insurance company agent, as well as on all things financial services. The different types of skills we look for in our division is primarily insurance or financial services background. So if you've been an insurance agent or worked in the insurance world; if you have compliance background as well, working with regulatory affairs. If you have industry experience in financial services. We have lots of different positions such as bank examiners, auditors, administrative specialists. We have compliance officers.

We also have enforcement officers who have prior background in law. We have our investigators who have prior law enforcement background. My job is exciting. We go out in the community and talk to Oregonians about how we can protect them against insurance claims, issues fraud, and also financial services.
