Oregon DEQ requests that anyone interacting with vehicle inspection staff follow COVID-19 state guidelines. Face masks must be worn when visiting DEQ offices and the Vehicle Inspection Program testing stations, regardless of vaccination status.
The Oregon Legislature recently passed HB 2137 affording relief to many vehicle registrants during the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the other forms of relief, the bill formalizes the law enforcement discretion previously in place by providing that “during the period beginning on Jan. 1, 2021 and ending on Dec. 31, 2021, a policy officer may not issue a citation for a vehicle registration that is expired for fewer than six months.”
