Special meeting of the Oregon Environmental Quality Commission

March 18, 2020: Teleconference only

On March 18, 2020, the commission authorized DEQ Director Whitman to temporarily waive the Vehicle Inspection Program emission testing requirements for Portland-metro and Medford residents registering, or renewing, passenger vehicles until April 14, 2020.

People affected by this action are only those that live within the Portland and Medford-area VIP testing boundaries, which you can verify through a DEQ online lookup tool.

Oregon law enforcement agencies have been asked to exercise discretion when enforcing administrative requirements for licensing and registration at this time. Please visit the Oregon Department of Transportation's COVID-19 updates page for more information about DMV operations.
