On Tuesday, Feb. 2, the commission will meet with DEQ senior leadership for an employee engagement work session. The commission will also meet with Director Pedersen in an executive session for the director’s annual performance review. The work session and annual review will be conducted in accordance with Oregon state public meeting laws.
This agenda reflects the order in which items are scheduled, and is subject to change.
Commissioners will take action on the proposed draft minutes from the Dec. 9-10, 2015, regular meeting.
B. Public forum
The commission will open a one-hour public comment opportunity. People who wish to present comment to the commission must complete a registration form, available at 8:30 a.m. at the meeting venue. People are asked to limit comments to five minutes or less and no comments may be presented on a proposed rule adoption for which a comment period has been held and closed.
DEQ staff will present proposed rule revisions to increase solid waste tipping fees and make other rule adjustments related to the Materials Management Program.
DEQ staff will present updates on agency, state and federal budget and legislative matters of interest to the commission, including the start of the 2016 Oregon Legislative Session.
Working lunch and executive session
The commission will recess from approximately noon to 1:15 p.m. for an executive session. The session will be held in accordance with Oregon’s public meeting laws.
The commission’s legal counsel will present DEQ’s request for the commission to request a petition for review in a contested case regarding AAM, Inc.
DEQ staff will present proposed changes to the process the commission uses to review contested cases, following up on discussion at commission meetings in 2015 and commission direction for process revisions.
Director Pedersen will present written and verbal updates on items of interest to the commission.
Commissioners will present written and verbal updates on their recent activities and other items of interest to the commission.
