DEQ and the Oregon Health Authority released draft Cleaner Air Oregon regulations for public review and comment in the fall of 2017. DEQ and OHA reviewed and carefully considered each public comment submitted during this process. On April 10, 2018, Governor Brown signed Senate Bill 1541 into law, which requires revisions to certain conditions in the Cleaner Air Oregon draft rules.
As a result, DEQ and OHA made changes in the draft rules required by the law. Some of the changes also reflect consideration of comments received in 2017, and other changes that reflect updated thinking on certain program elements.
DEQ and OHA recorded a PowerPoint presentation to inform people about changes to the proposed program, and help people prepare for a second public comment period June 25 – Aug. 6.
