Foster Parents and Relative Caregivers

DHS Certified Foster Parents and Relative Caregivers  are  Mandatory Child Abuse Reporters

All citizens have a responsibility to prevent child abuse and protect children.

Foster Parents, Relative Caregivers, and their caregiving employees or volunteers are in a unique position to be aware of when a child reports potential abuse or neglect, and in turn must report these allegations to the Child Protective Services Hotline.

These tools are available to assist Foster Parents, Relative Caregivers, and their caregiving employees and volunteers to best understand the responsibilities of Mandatory reporting and the processes that take place once an allegation of abuse or neglect has been made.
