Oregon, like many other states, is looking at the impact COVID-19 closures will have on state budgets. Oregon’s office of the Chief Financial Officer has asked all general fund agencies and programs to identify how they would reduce their general fund expenditures. The only General Fund revenue the Oregon Employment Department receives is the start-up funding for our new Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance program. Our plan includes reducing the amount we had budgeted for procurement and contract costs for the program by $1.3 million.
