Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance

The Oregon Employment Department is hosting a series of Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (PFMLI) virtual town halls. Once implemented, the PFMLI program will help Oregonians take time off from work to bond with a new child, to care for themselves or family members when experiencing a serious health condition, or to take safe leave for issues related to domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault, or stalking. The department’s PFMLI team is currently working to develop policies and administrative rules related to the program, and it welcomes your input into the process.

Each town hall will address a particular aspect of the PFMLI program, like benefits or small employers. Because the program is still in the process of being developed, these virtual town halls will serve as listening sessions for the PFMLI team. Town hall participants are invited to identify issues, offer ideas, raise concerns, or make suggestions relating to the program’s development and the administrative rules needed to implement the program.

The PFMLI team invites you to share your questions, ideas, or suggestions. Your input will help the team to implement a program that works for all Oregonians. Please send all questions, comments, or ideas to

If you need ADA, language assistance, or reasonable accommodation, please send an email to 3 days before the Town Hall, so we can do our best to meet your request.
