She has served as a member and co-chair of the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, among others. Her public service also includes work as consultant to the National Forest Counties and Schools Coalition and eight years as a Lake County Commissioner. Charles "Chip" Massie was born and raised in Marin County, California. He studied at Indian Valley College before transferring to DeAnza College in Cupertino, CA to pursue a degree in Theater Arts. He then moved to Los Angeles and partnered in a small theater company for three years. In the mid 80's, he moved to Modoc County and opened a Bed and Breakfast Restaurant in Ft. Bidwell, CA. This led to an opportunity to open a restaurant in Alturas, CA called the Pizza and Pasta Place on April 1st, 1989. This restaurant led to the opening of Antonio's Cucina Italiana in Klamath Falls in early 2001. Both restaurants are still in operation. While in Alturas, Chip served on the Alturas City Council and was a representative to the Superior California Economic Development District. Chip also served as an active member of the Modoc County Chamber of Commerce, co-founded the Great Historic Hotel Bicycle Race, co-founded the Alturas Hot Air Balloon Festival, served as the President of the Alturas Community Theater, Inc and Modoc Performing Arts Theatre, served as program coordinator for the Modoc Arts Council, and developed the Modoc High Country Amphitheater. Since his move to Klamath Falls, Chip has served on the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, been an active Rotarian, and has been actively involved as a theatrical director and volunteer at the Ross Ragland Theater.
With a passion for problem-solving whether it involves crunching numbers or facilitating communication, Tricia spends much of her time asking her left brain and right brain to play nice. Her degree in Law and Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics from the University of Oregon helps her navigate the complex world of regulations, finance, and generational culture changes her family farm faces on a daily basis. As a board member of the Klamath Water Users Association, she devotes a significant amount of time working with interested parties towards a permanent solution for the “Klamath Problem.”
Mayor Westfall is passionate about outdoor recreation and education opportunities, so she opened Lakeshore Landing, a coffee shop and kayak rental business. She is involved with the Great Outdoors Alliance and volunteers her time and business helping develop local educational programs. A board member of the Audubon Society, a Master Gardener, and a Master Woodland Manager, Carol devotes her time to the development of her community. She was elected Mayor of Klamath Falls in 2016.
