Alex Campbell, South Coast Region Coordinator

Alex has lived in Southern Oregon since 2011 when he became the Executive Director of The Partnership for Economic Development in Douglas County. Previously, he led the resource and economic development efforts at the City of Milwaukie in Clackamas County. In addition to working in the public and non-profit sectors, he has worked in the private sector in real estate development and corporate research. Prior to moving to Oregon, he was a Faculty Research Associate at the University of Maryland, College Park, and performed public policy research for several small think tanks and advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C. 

Alex was born in England, but grew up in Maine and Massachusetts. He received a BA in History from New College of Florida, and a Masters of Public Policy at University of Maryland, College Park, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.​​​

Keith Tymchuk served as the Mayor of Reedsport for six terms, is the Vice President of the Port of Umpqua Commission, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Wave Energy Trust. Mayor Tymchuk has a B.A. in telecommunications from the University of Oregon, and an M.A. in Education from Oregon State University.​​

Marie Simonds joined Wild Rivers Coast Alliance in 2012 and is currently the Executive Director. Prior to joining WRCA, Marie was the Executive Director of the Southwestern Oregon Community College Foundation where she led scholarship fundraising efforts for students while also the SWOCC Head Men’s and Women’s golf coach.

With over 46 years of experience in the construction industry, David Kronsteiner became president of West Coast Contractors in 1976, continuing the leadership of his father who founded the company in 1962. Since then, WCC has grown from a three-man crane service to a regional force in the marine, heavy construction, and pile-driving industries. David leads WCC with unparalleled business proficiency and is responsible for business development, client relations, and overall operations. David's involvement in marine construction has enabled him to become a highly sought after expert in the maritime construction communities of Oregon, Northern California, and Washington.​​​​​

Commissioner Sweet was born in Bandon and is an OSU graduate with degrees in Forestry and Business Administration. Sweet was elected to the Coos County Board in 2012.​​

Commissioner Chris Boice was elected in 2015 has lived in Douglas County since 1994. His wife was raised in South County and their four children were all born here. Commissioner Boice is committed to this great county and has owned and operated small businesses since 2002.  ​

Commissioner Boice became involved in public service because the time had come for his generation to step up and accept a leadership role in government. In a challenging economy, we can no longer promise county benefits and changes in county operations without also talking about how to balance our budget. His goal is to work to streamline government programs and ensure that we operate with a balanced budget. He has also been a committed and consistent force for economic diversification in Douglas County.
