•Thank you Mayor Lundberg and Mayor Kitty Piercy for hosting today’s listening tour. It was great to get a first-hand look at a prime example of the types of project that would be made possible by a statewide transportation package.

•Thank you also to University of Oregon President Michael Schill and Lane Transit District’s Gary Wildish and Aurora Jackson. The transformation of a transportation corridor-- like what is envisioned for Franklin Boulevard-- would help improve the economic vitality of the Springfield/Eugene region and the entire state.

•To achieve this, Oregon needs a transportation package to make critical investments in seismic retrofitting and investments in transit to reduce congestion and give more choices to Oregonians. Overall, these types of thoughtful, multimodal improvements are essential to making Oregon a transportation innovation hub.
