REMARKS AS PREPARED

Tillamook Creamery Visitor Center Opening
June 19, 2018

Good morning. Thank you, Patrick, for that kind introduction.

Thank you, Senator Roblan. Your leadership in the legislature, as well as here in the local community, is greatly appreciated.

I also want to give a round of applause to Commissioner Josi, and all our local leaders and distinguished guests.

It’s my privilege to welcome you all today. I’m thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of Tillamook Creamery’s beautifully designed, state-of-the-art visitor center.

After over 100 years in the cheese-making business, and nearly 70 years in production here in Tillamook County, this stunning, new visitor center is long past due.

And as we celebrate national Dairy Month this June, the timing couldn’t be better.

Tillamook Creamery is proudly and uniquely Oregon. Starting as a humble dairy association, Tillamook Creamery has grown to be one of the most renowned dairy companies, with products in stores around the world.

But in that time, Tillamook Creamery has always stayed rooted to Oregon, and to the local community and generations of family farmers.

As Oregonians, we make things. Innovative, useful, marketable – and, as we know, delicious – things. We are proud to share our uniquely-Oregon products with the rest of the world.

This new visitor center will serve as a greeting card, not just for Tillamook-- but for the entire State of Oregon, to the thousands of visitors and cheese lovers traveling from far and wide.

Congratulations, Tillamook Creamery. Here’s to another 100 years of cheese!
