Woodburn Interchange Ribbon Cutting
September 14, 2015

Thank you for joining me today to celebrate the completion of the Woodburn interchange.
This project is the result of the Jobs and Transportation Act – passed by the Oregon Legislature, with bipartisan support, in 2009.

This legislation not only invested in our physical infrastructure but also in our economic infrastructure. It created quality, family wage jobs in the midst of the great recession. The end result is an interchange that is already reducing congestion, creating significant safety and economic benefits, for Woodburn, Marion County and the entire region.
This is what happens when city, state and federal governments work together. .
But it wasn’t just these public partners that made this happen, the primary contractor, K & E, came up with a plan to change how it was built that reduced construction time by an entire year.
This is a good example of The Oregon Way – collaborating to achieve meaningful changes that make everyone’s lives better.
Let’s continue to work together, moving Oregon forward and creating more opportunities for all Oregonians to thrive.
