The re-launch: The Oregon GED Program® Summit has been rebranded and re-launched! After a brief hiatus, we are coming back stronger than ever. Introducing “Elevate the Essentials: The Oregon Adult Basic Skills Virtual Conference 2021."

The goal: The Oregon Adult Basic Skills Virtual Conference 2021 has a central goal to provide quality, relevant professional development and networking opportunities for adult basic education professionals, administrators, and students including those in GED® test education, Adult Basic Education, Corrections, ESOL, and Career & Technical Education. We will mobilize the energy, talent, training, knowledge, wisdom, expertise, and experience of the adult basic education experts to expand access to education and support services.

The theme: Elevate the Essentials, opens doors for a wide range of presentation topics and to a wide range of possible presenters. It is aspirational, transformational, and productive. It provides a broad lens for inclusivity within the high school equivalency and adult basic education community. Most importantly, it is an invitation for people who serve students without a high school diploma or basic adult education to participate in a one-of-a-kind virtual professional development conference.

Elevate the Essentials recognizes what we already knew: that our students are indispensable. Vital at home, work, and in the classroom. The 2021 Oregon Adult Basic Skills Virtual Conference is a space to address this reality, and more importantly, to imagine collaborations, partnerships, and strategies to aid them to move from students to graduates and open up productive and strategic conversations. Sessions will also show what education could look like for our high school equivalency and adult basic education students.
