Salem, OR—Governor Kate Brown's PERS UAL Task Force will convene for their second meeting next week. Governor Brown appointed the task force to review and propose options for making up to $5 billion in payments toward the PERS unfunded actuarial liability.

The group decided at their first meeting to have each task force member focus on an area of work, and the members will discuss status updates and their findings at this meeting. Oregonians are encouraged to submit public comment by the end of the day Sunday, Aug. 27, as the members will receive a report on public input Monday morning.

The PERS UAL Task Force will hold its second meeting Monday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Portland State University Boardroom, 1800 SW 6th Ave., Suite 515, Portland, OR. The meeting is open to the public.

Members of the public can learn more on the task force's website and are encouraged to submit comment to task force members by emailing Comments will be reported to task force members at the Monday and subsequent public meetings.

The agenda of the second meeting will include a status update discussion, review of conflicts of interest, a report on public comments, and a summary of focus areas.

A third meeting is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 8, also in the Portland State University Boardroom.
