Salem, OR—As Oregon’s COVID-19 statewide response efforts continue to evolve to meet the needs of Oregonians, the Joint Information Center, which has served as a central hub of COVID-19 information to Oregonians, will turn public information functions back over to individual state agencies starting Friday, May 15.
As counties and business begin to reopen, all staff currently assigned to the JIC will return to their state agencies to support their agency-specific needs.
Moving forward, members of the media are advised to reach out directly to their communications contacts within each state agency.
The JIC email and phone line will transfer to the Oregon Office of Emergency Management (OEM). OEM will monitor the email and phone line, and serve as a clearinghouse, redirecting requests for information to the most appropriate state agency. The email and phone line will be monitored 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Oregon Health Authority Health Information Center will continue to provide health data, information and guidance.
