Salem, OR—Governor Kate Brown announced today that she will appoint Joshua A. Spansail to be District Attorney of Curry County, effective immediately. Spansail has been a prosecutor in the Curry County District Attorney’s Office since 2016. He fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Everett Dial.
“Joshua Spansail is an experienced prosecutor who has earned the trust of the community in Curry County,” Governor Brown said. “I am confident that he will continue to administer justice and enforce the law with an even hand and a level head.”
Spansail is a deputy district attorney in the Curry County District Attorney’s Office. He earlier served as a judicial clerk for Judge Robert D. Herndon in Clackamas County. He began his legal career in state government as rules coordinator at the Water Resources Department. Spansail attended both law school and college at the University of Oregon. He supports various community organizations on the south coast, including Gold Beach Christian Help and the Common Good Food Bank in Port Orford.
