Portland, OR—Oregon Environmental Quality Commissioner Greg Addington submitted his resignation from the Commission to Oregon Governor Kate Brown, effective Dec. 31, 2020. Commissioner Addington has served on the EQC for the last two and a half years.

Addington resigned to devote full attention to a new position as Chief of Staff for state representative Vikki-Breese Iverson of Prineville. Addington also is continuing his role as Executive Director of REAL Oregon (Resource Education and Agricultural Leadership Program).

“I want to thank Greg for his service on the commission,” said DEQ Director Richard Whitman. “He has provided an important perspective in the commission’s work, and has consistently worked to find constructive solutions to challenging issues. His voice will be missed.”

Oregon Governor Kate Brown will nominate a successor to the commission.

Information on how to apply for a Governor-appointed Board or Commission is available on Gov. Brown’s webpage here.

The next EQC meeting is Jan. 21-22.
