Advisory Committee on Transition

The Advisory Committee on Transition (ACT) is an advisory group for the Office of Enhancing Student Opportunities.

  • Purpose: To serve in an advisory capacity on issues related to determining transition priorities for documents, web information and development and other issues that may arise. The ACT considers the services and postsecondary outcomes for students and informs the department on strategies and plans to improve transition for students beginning at age 14 and continuing through age 21.
  • Responsibilities: The delivery of an appropriate and coordinated array of transition services promotes movement from school to postsecondary education and meaningful employment, including social and community integration resulting in self-determination for the students and their families.
  • Membership: The committee is made up of stakeholders representing parents, teachers, administrators, higher education, and other agencies. The members serve in an advisory capacity to the Department. Meetings are held at least five times a year. Other meetings will be scheduled as needed.
