Full-Day Kindergarten

A high-quality, full day, every day kindergarten program is a critical period in the education continuum. Early assessment and intervention that is aligned with instruction must be in place in order to close achievement and opportunity gaps at an early age. A program model with articulated, desired outcomes assures program focus and direction where students can grow emotionally and academically.

  • Early Learning and Kindergarten Guidelines

Oregon’s Early Learning and Kindergarten Guidelines offer a continuum of learning and development, for children ages three through kindergarten, in the domains of approaches to learning, social-emotional development, language and communication, literacy, and mathematics. In every domain, the Guidelines reinforce the concept that some children, including those with special needs, may need varied approaches to instruction to ensure they have access to learning and opportunities to develop and master new skills, behaviors, and concepts. For dual language learners, the Guidelines support parents and educators in valuing the home language and understanding how dual language learners demonstrate learning.
